Who are Katelin & Ricky: We're a young, married couple from a small town in Texas. We sold everything we own to pursue a more sustainable and fulfilling life. We use our remote freelance business to travel to amazing places on Earth we've only previously dreamed of experiencing.

Our goal is to share our personal stories and experiences to hopefully encourage other "nomads" in their own pursuits of their ideal lifestyle. Whether you're interested in travel, starting a business or blog, or quitting a crappy job and journeying onto something better. We hope that NewlyNomadic provides a space for you to be and think creatively about your life!

"I spent 5 years working in the financial industry climbing the corporate ladder, but in April of 2018 I ditched the office job to pursue a location independent lifestyle working with Ricky in his business. I knew I would not regret taking the risk of escaping the corporate rat race because it wasn’t the type of lifestyle I desired.

I love the location independent lifestyle because it allows me to make the most out of my days and focus on what is important to me. For me, traveling isn’t just a way to cross off bucket list items, but to learn and grow as an individual. I love immersing myself into cultures unknown to me, meeting people from around the world, trying new foods, and learning about the history and traditions of wherever I am at.

I am a Harry Potter fanatic (Ravenclaw all the way!). My favorite band is Nahko and the Medicine for the People. I love snorkeling, going for bicycle rides, and just being in nature. I am 100% addicted to traveling and I am always ready for the next adventure. I definitely eat too much cookie dough and watch The Office more than I should."

“At 19 years old, I started my website design business as a way to create for myself a future endowed with creativity and independence. For 5 years, I've been working hard to forge the best type of life I can see myself living, futher developing my skills, and overcoming any obstacles on the way. It’s definitely been a bumpy road of setbacks, successes, and trials, but I am learning each and every day to think bigger, accomplish more, and become a better person.

Spending time outdoors with my wifey, Katelin, and our two pups Daisy & Duke are things I most enjoy. Some goals I have for the next 5-10 years is to obtain financial freedom and continue traveling with our location-independent business, to and from from our self-built homestead.

I have many passions including environmental awareness, entrepreneurship, connection with nature, building things, learning new things, and playing music. I hope to create content that inspires others through realistic, relevant, and honest material, in everything I do.
